Project Nursery

Things are really shaping up in Baby Dancey's nursery! Last weekend Hubs did an ah-may-zing job doing the paneling! I am so thrilled with how it turned out!
We're still not anywhere close to being done, but the biggest to-do is finally checked off! Here are some progress pics as well as the finished paneling

Hubs painting the top of the wall grey...good thing he's tall!

Hubby had to draw out where all of the paneling would go...lots of measuring and lotso math...I was of course no help there!

All measured out and ready to go!

Wood trim is DONE! All that is left to do is to paint it white (Decorator's White by Benjamin Moore)

What a mess...yuck!

Almost done painting! Lookin' good!

And here is the finished product...

I couldn't be happier with how it turned out! So proud of my Honey and all his hard work! You did such an amazing job! xx

Nesting Gone Bananas

This nesting thing is getting a little out of control! It started with little things, you know, like wanting to clean the cupboards, to deciding that every.single.drawer needs to be organized with baskets and organizers. Yes ladies, I have even organized my toilet paper, it's that bad.  I won't bore you with pics of my organized toilet paper, but I did want to share my makeup drawer. I still keep the majority of my makeup in an organizer, but for my every day makeup I decided to organize it in a drawer so that I have easier access to it on those mornings when I'm in a mad rush because I decided to hit the snooze button one too many times (it's happening more and more these preggie days!)

Yes, this happened as well

As well as my psychotic overwhelming need to organize everything in this house, I have now decided that EVERY room needs to be completed before bb's arrival. First room being Baby Dancey's room of course, but I  have also set my sights on our master bedroom. That poor room that has been neglected in our house re-do. I am in love with our duvet and headboard..but that's about it.
My first mission was to find a vintage night stand with a french country feel and lookey lookey what I found!

Isn't it delish? I'm super happy with it. I am in love with the colour, which is the perfect gray (although it doesn't look that way in these pics)

Hubby is going to paint our bedroom next weekend. We went on the hunt for the perfect soft white and are in between "Swiss Coffee" by Benjamin Moore (Said to be the perfect off-white) or Para "Snowfall" (apparently it's Sarah Richardson's fav)...we'll soon see who the winner is!

But more importantly, this weekend it's PROJECT BABY'S ROOM!!! I am SO excited I can't even tell you!

We have already painted the top of his room a soft gray and are going to do paneling at the bottom in white. This is Hubby's big DIY with his Dad, so good luck to them!
We purchased his dresser and drapery and will be picking up the crib this week. It's all coming together now! Will update next week!

Sail Away

We decided a long time ago that if we had a boy he would have a nautical room. Not too nautical where it becomes cheesy but subtle nautical, with the main colours being blue, white and red..there is nothing more delicious and preppy than blue and white stripes so we are going to do his bedding in them. Originally, we were going to do blue and white stripes on the wall but decided it may be a tad tacky so we opted to his bedding in stripes instead.
Here are some pics that have inspired me and also some of the items we've already purchased

Here is the inspiration ship wheel

We found THIS ship wheel and I couldn't be more thrilled!!!

This is our bedding from Pottery Barn, obsessed with stripes!!! (It's the Harper collection)

I love this drum shade from Restoration Hardware but I may just go with the plain white

Still looking for vintage sail boat prints like these for above his crib

Still waiting for his rope mirror to come in stock, LOVE!!!

And these pics below have absolutely NOTHING to do with our nautical theme but I still want them!!! They are from the Animal Print Shop and are probably the cutest pictures ever

This picture I found on google is exactly what baby's closet looks like so this is perfect to help me visualize...going to get some baskets like these to organize

Oh Baby, baby!

It seems like forever ago that I sat down to do a blog post but I hope you will forgive me because I have some very exciting news....My Hubby and I are expecting a baby!!!! That's right, I'm pregnant with a precious little love bug! I'm 6 months along now and have really started to show!

I had a pretty rough first trimester. I had terrible morning sickness, (they lie by the way, it should be called ALL DAY LONG sickness) not a lot of throwing up, but really nauseous all.day.long.
I also had a few scares early on in the pregnancy. I woke up one morning to a little bit of blood and thought for sure I was miscarrying because I never had that with my daughter. To me, if you saw blood, this meant you were miscarrying. We went to the hospital, totally devastated, I thought for sure they would say they didn't see a heartbeat, only to see our perfect little one bopping around on the ultrasound!!! It was the most beautiful sight I have ever seen. Baby as SO active and so alive, it was a moment I'll never forget. They didn't know why I was bleeding though and this was so scary. I took a lot of time off work and prayed, a lot.
A few weeks later it happened again....I woke up, this time to a LOT of blood. This time I was absolutely sure that I had miscarried. There was no way a baby could survive with all that bleeding. Off we went again to the hospital, had another ultrasound and found that baby was perfectly healthy and OK. This time we found out the cause of my bleeding. They told us that I had "placental lakes", which are essentially blood clots on your placenta. They don't know the cause, but sometimes it can cause miscarriage and other times baby is perfectly healthy, we were/are so lucky that our little one was OK.

We had our scheduled 16 week ultrasound and were SO anxious to find out if baby was a boy or a girl. We had planned to do a gender reveal party with a pink or blue cake with our whole family...buut babykins had other plans....Baby who is usually CRAZY and SO active chose to sleep the whole time with his/her legs crossed!! What a little monkey! We were so upset!!! As soon as we got in the car, I fought the urge to cry and booked a 3D ultrasound 2 days later. Little one was MUCH more cooperative this time! Here are some pics from our gender reveal party to let you know what we're having!!!

That's right, we're having a BOY!!!!!!! I.am.in.shock. The Hubs and I were CONVINCED it was a girl! We really wanted a boy but had a gut feeling it was a little girl...so much for Mother's/Father's intuition! Ha! When the technician said it was a boy, I literally screamed! Ryan just kept pacing back and forth saying, "Oh my God, Oh my God". To say we are over the moon is an understatement. I wish more than anything we had that moment on video, it was priceless.

Here are a few pics of me at 6 months

Baby bump has really POPPED!

So needless to say, things around here have been centered around the arrival of our sweet little guy. We have started his little nursery. I'll do a post soon on the progress/plans, promise!
I've missed you all!

xoxo. Sarah
